Playing Fairy Godmother: Cinderella's #OOTN

If modern-day Cinderella were a cool, edgy, stylish downtown chick, these would be her glass slippers.

When you come to think of it, Cinderella was kind of badass. Sure, she needed a push from her fairy godmother, but the girl had the guts to go to the ball...and stayed out past her curfew.

What I Wore: Maxi, With a Twist

Dress: Express / Sunglasses: Joe Fresh / Purse: Louis Vuitton / Shoes: Aldo (Similar here)

I went to the Express fall preview last week and saw one of the PR girls wearing this dress. I loved it so much, I went and bought it the next day. It's one of those dresses that can easily be dressed up or down which is key in my books. As I have way too many black dresses in my wardrobe (seriously, I can barely tell them apart in my closet!), this aubergine colour is a nice change. The sheer overlay of the dress makes it not quite a maxi, and the side slits add some sexiness (and allow for more movement).

Emmanuelle Chriqui On Beauty And Living Green

Emanuelle Chriqui -style-rx.ca

Emmanuelle Chriqui is one of those rare celebrities who are truly beautiful inside and out.

The Canadian-born actress (who’s best known for her roles in Entourage and The Mentalist) has been deemed “sexiest celeb” and “most beautiful woman” by several publications, so it seems like a beauty deal would be inevitable. But Chriqui was extremely selective in choosing which beauty campaign to front.

Sneak Peek: Rudsak's Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

Originally posted on styleswept.ca

I know the weather just started getting warmer, but Rudsak’s A/W13 collection has got me wishing it’s fall again.

The collection was first shown at World MasterCard Fashion Week back in March, but we got a more in-depth look at the pieces on Tuesday during the brand’s preview.

Rudsak’s fall collection was a mixture of ‘70s disco and ‘90s grunge. “Think Abba meets Kurt Cobain,” said Matthew Flemming, Rudsak district manager for Ontario. "It sounds crazy, but it makes sense once you see the collection."

And it truly did. The entire collection stayed true to Rudsak nature -- timeless, with an edge. We saw plenty of pieces with the classic Rudsak silhouette, leather and fur accents, and a whole lot of cool.

Here are a few of the pieces I can't wait to rock this fall and winter:

How to Wear: The Denim Shirt

Is it possible to have too many denim shirts? I think not.

Chambray shirts have become a staple in my wardrobe, mainly because you can pair them with ANYTHING. A denim shirt can dress down a frou-frou outfit, while the proper accessories can dress up a denim shirt. See? It can go both ways. Plus, they're much more comfortable than your standard dress shirt.

Here are some of my fave ways to wear it:

Photo Diary: Tiffany & Co.'s screening of The Great Gatsby

Dress: BCBG Max Azria / Shoes: Zara / Costume jewelry: H&M / Headband: H&M / Purse: Vintage

Last night I attended Tiffany & Co.'s screening of The Great Gatsby. The evening started off with cocktails at Tiffany's where models wore the exquisite jewels seen in the film. Then it was off to the Varsity theatre to watch the film...

Shades of blue

Clockwise from left: Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Rock The Boat, Chanel Nouvelle Vague.

I know emerald green is the colour of the year, but right now I'm all about the blues. I'm still in love with Chanel's Nouvelle Vague, the it-colour back in 2010, and Essie's Mint Candy Apple is a classic fave. But there's something to be said about the light blue hue of Rock The Boat from Essie's summer collection. Love that it is a true blue - with no hints of green.

Which polish will you be wearing this summer?

PUNK: From Chaos to Couture - Fashion at the Met Gala 2013

The stars wore their best garb for fashion's biggest night - The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala. The theme? PUNK: From Chaos to Couture. Some celebs went all-out punk, while others seemed to have missed the memo. And some style savvy celebs were able to incorporate the punk style without making their red carpet wear look like a costume.

Here's a look at the best (and worst) looks from the Met Gala 2013.
